Why not studying in Aix-Marseille ?

This question cannot be postponed when one realizes that Aix-en-Provence and Marseille are the two main cities in Provence, celebrated by numerous writers and artists… In this friendly neighborhood is located GREQAM, a center regularly ranked among the top-5 research centers in economics in France.

The AMSE Master is a two-year Master programme in Economics organized by Aix-Marseilles University, Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, and Ecole Centrale de Marseille. It aims to provide high-level courses and training in the main fields of specialization of AMSE : Development Economics, Econometrics, Public Economics, Environmental Economics, Finance / Insurance, Macroeconomics, Economic Philosophy, Health Economics.

It attracts about 100 students per year. Candidates from all countries are considered for admission. After completion, Master graduates have job perspectives in business, public administration, international organizations, teaching, and research. The Master also selects a number of students who enter the AMSE PhD programme.

The AMSE Master is associated with very well-established firms and institutions. Socio-economic partners manage courses and seminars. They also offer internships to first- and second-year students.

The first-year M1 starts very general with a strong focus on methodological tools. The purpose of the courses is to provide core skills with extensive use in applied economic situations. First-term courses are duplicated in Aix and in Marseille. During the second term, students choose a field of specialization to prepare their second year. Students are encouraged to undertake a non-compulsory internship during the summer.

The second-year M2 is composed of four domains of specialization : Econometrics, Finance, Macroeconomics and Development, and Public Economics. To enlarge the set of possible options, domains of specialization are also divided into programmes, for a total of nine different programmes.
